Arline will share thoughts and ideas on “Drawing or Painting what you love”. Be it flowers or people or your favorite animal or pet, Arline will teach you how to achieve a picture you are pleased with. Please bring 2 or 3 favorite photos with you. This can even be a greeting card or a picture from a magazine. We will also have extras on hand. You can also bring a notebook to take notes on re- sources. No prior experience needed but if you have dabbled and you do have your own art supplies by all means bring them. All other supplies will be provided.

This is just a fun class! Come try to see if you are hiding a talent you need to unleash.

In the fall of 2017 and spring of 2018, BASCO helped UW Medical School to test a women incontinent program, Mind Over Matter (MOM) that it was developing. It has proven to be highly effective and BASCO will be offering this program again this fall on Tuesdays from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on October 15, October 29 and November 12. Cost is $10.00. Refreshments served.

What is Mind Over Matter: Healthy Bladder, Healthy Bowels? MOM is a workshop that helps older women build skills and confidence to adopt exercises and adjust fiber and fluid intake to improve symptoms. It is:

  • Short and sweet: 3 sessions, each lasting 2 hrs. every other week.

  • Comfortable: A limit of 8-12 women fosters trust & privacy

  • Community-based: Led by a trained facilitator (not a health care professional)

  • Interactive: Engages women to work together to set and meet personalized goals

  • Fun: Incorporates social interaction, tasteful humor, and fiber-filled snacks

  • Effective: Improves bladder symptoms for 71% of women & bowel symptoms for 55%!

Fall Harvest again will be located in the Civic Center gym on the ground floor.

Cost of the meal is $8.00 if purchased ahead of time, or $9.00 at the door. A spaghetti meal will be served with salad, garlic bread, drink and dessert. Along with dinner, this event will include a silent auction, raffle items, purse grab, pie sale and the popular Trips Raffle ticket sales.

LIBRARY OFFERS PHOTO SCANNING AT BASCO

Joan Wheeler of the Baraboo Public Library will be offering photo scanning opportunities on afternoons of the first Mondays of the months of June, July and August from noon to 3:00 p.m.

Bring in your photographs and a flash drive. Your photos are put through the high speed scanner and are saved as digital photo files on your flash drives. Now you can take your boxes of photos and quickly put them on a small flash drive thereby clearing your boxes full of photos and saving you storage room!

This process can take about 40 minutes per person so you would need to sign up for a time slot for the afternoon of your choice. Call the Center at 356-8464 to reserve your slot today!
